Ali Khayam

Ali Khayam

Syed Ali Khayam is an academic at heart and an industrial manager in the making. After finishing his PhD from Michigan State University, he worked at the School of EECS in the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. At NUST, he was the founding director of the Wireless and Secure Networks (WiSNet) Research Lab [http://wisnet.seecs.nust.edu.pk], which published over 70 research articles in top-ranked publications in networks, communications and security. He has one granted and four pending patents at USPTO. In March 2011, he co-founded a technology company, xFlow Research, which was focused on providing services in the software-defined networking space. Since March 2012, he has been working with PLUMgrid in different engineering management roles.

Azmir Mohamed

Azmir Mohamed

Senior Director of Products at PLUMgrid

Azmir Mohamed has more than 20 years experience delivering datacenter and enterprise campus infrastructure products. Prior to joining PLUMgrid, he was Vice President, Product Management at Cloudscaling, a leading provider of OpenStack-powered IaaS for private and hybrid cloud solutions. While at Cloudscaling, he was responsible defining their product and services strategy and driving their product roadmap including upstream and downstream work with OpenStack. Azmir also owned the technology relationship with Juniper Contrail which lead to various joint engineering, marketing and sales success.

Previously, he was Sr. Director, Product Management at Abiquo, a hypervisor agnostic enterprise software solution that enables organizations to leverage their existing virtualized infrastructure to enable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Azmir has also held various product management VMware, where he was responsible for VMware’s datacenter storage, backup and replication product portfolio. He also held various technical and product roles at Cisco Systems.

Christopher MacGown

Christopher MacGown

Co-founder & CTO at Piston Cloud

Prior to co-founding Piston Cloud Computing, Christopher was an early employee of Slicehost before its acquisition by Rackspace in 2008. From there he became a team lead in the development of Cloud Servers Windows. Christopher is an originating member of OpenStack’s Nova-core development team. Recent projects include serving as senior engineer on the Global Earthquake Model project, driving the development of a highly scalable earthquake modeling engine. In his spare time Christopher enjoys playing the ukulele, drawing and reading 16th and 17th century philosophy.

Fawad Khaliq

Fawad Khaliq

Senior Design Engineer at PLUMgrid

Fawad has been a member of the OpenStack community for over three years and a core developer in the Networking ecosystem. He has contributions in several OpenStack projects including Neutron, Nova, Kuryr, Magnum, DevStack. He is also the author and maintainer of networking-plumgrid subproject under Neutron umbrella and has over three years experience in implementing software defined networking, containers, high availability, distributed system and APIs. Fawad is a Senior Software Engineer at PLUMgrid, where he is involved in design and development of cloud computing software components, solving networking problem for new technologies and representing PLUMgrid in various open source forums. Currently, he is working on improving the area of container networking in the OpenStack community and works with the Kuryr, Neutron and Magnum teams. He is also working on the design for network traffic mirroring, redirection and service chaining in OpenStack. In future, he plans to improve the high availability aspects in the OpenStack networking space.

Fernando is a Principal SE at PLUMgrid where he works in implementing software networking infrastructures in his customer’s clouds. Fernando has 15 years experience in designing, implementing and operating large-scale networks of virtually all kinds of customers ranging from tier-1 telcos to massive datacenters and enterprises.

Justin Moore

Justin Moore

ustin Moore is a Principal Solutions Architect at PLUMgrid specializing in developing Cloud and SDN strategy and architecture for the enterprise. Prior to joining PLUMgrid, Justin served as a Sr. Director for Enterprise Growth at American Express, establishing and leading the Cloud and DevOps functions. At American Express, Justin led the creation of the Cloud cost model, Hybrid Cloud strategy, and PCI certification of the card processing environment. The adoption of the Cloud model led to significant cost savings over the legacy environment, as well as significant reduction in time to market for new business features through tight integration with the CI/CD pipeline.

Ken is passionate about helping customers with their Cloud Computing journey and is an official OpenStack Ambassador. Pere Monclus

Before founding PLUMgrid, Pere was a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems in the Research and Advanced Development team, where he led innovation in the areas of cloud, security and converged infrastructure. Prior to that, he was responsible for the architecture and technology of network services and their integration with switches and routers for datacenters. Pere also led Cisco’s Service Enabled Network initiative, which contributed some of the early thoughts and ideas behind Software Defined Networks.

Sunny Rajagopalan

Sunny Rajagopalan

Sunny Rajagopalan is Principal Architect at PLUMgrid, where he focusses on containers, security and the overall platform. Prior to joining PLUMgrid he worked in IBM’s Networking Architecture team reporting to the CTO, where he was responsible for architecting features for next generation Data Center Networks. He holds over a dozen patents in the fields of networking and distributed computing.

Sushil Singh

Sushil is a leading innovator with a diverse set of technical skills. As a master of distributed systems, analytics, simulations, kernel, embedded systems and ASIC/FPGA design, he has designed multiple networking systems for switching, content security, distribution and delivery optimizations. Prior to co-founding PLUMgrid, Sushil served as Technical Leader at Cisco Systems, driving the architecture of next-generation datacenter switches. Previous to that, he held senior engineering positions at Yuni Networks, which was acquired by AMCC, and at Netsift, which was acquired by Cisco. He has been awarded multiple patents in the areas of arbitration, scheduling and security.
